  1. I've been as critical of U2 this decade as many U2 fans and think The Cure is way too under-rated, but Devo? Devo doesn't beat U2. Kick Devo's butt, The Cure! Do it for U2!

  2. Muldy, Devo didn't beat U2, The Cure did. Devo beat Beastie Boys, Pixies and REM. And they deserved to beat all of them.
Devo is a seriously underrated band. Many treat them like a novelty band, but they were/are a great band. Unless you're like Robert and hate keyboards. : )
But for Cure vs. Devo, it's Cure all the way.

  3. Oh no, it's Cure vs. Devo! :)

Of course I have to root for The Cure, but I agree wholeheartedly with Craig: Devo is seriously underrated. They are so much more than just the guys who sang "Whip It". They are my second favorite band, so I have to say that I will be happy no matter who wins.

And for the record, in my book, Devo kicks the pants off of Bono and the boys! :D

    We're pinheads now,
    we are not whole.
    We're pinheads all:
    Jocko Homo!

    Are we not men?
    We are DEVO!

  4. I was just having fun, Cragers. I don't know anything about Devo except that "Whip It Good" video. I'm surprised that they're considered good beyond a fun kinda way. I just meant that it was such an insult U2 was beaten below even Devo that I wanted The Cure to sock 'em in honor of their fallen opponent.

  6. Devo beat REM? Like, THE REM? Whip It (because you know that's what the voters had in mind) beat The End of the World as We Know It, The One I Love, Stand, and Orange Crush (REM's biggest hits of the '80s)?

Well, all the power to 'em, I guess.

    But Devo?

    Seriously?

  7. Yes, Devo beat REM. : )

During the hour of voting, they only play songs from the two bands competing, so listeners heard more than Whip It. They also played Satisfaction, Freedom Of Choice, Jerkin' Back 'n' Forth, Beautiful World and others.
For REM they played What's the Frequency Kenneth, Losing My Religion, It's the End of the World and I can't remember what else.

  8. A little trick. If you vote and then x out of the site and then go back, you can vote again! I did it over and over again to help The Cure beat the evil U2.
