  1. I don't know if my lobbying of pitchfork helped, but it finally reported on the single, but barely endorsed it. No mention of "Sleep When I'm Dead" getting number 1 single, and they accredit the lazy stereogum.

  2. jpx - LOL. Yes, although Australia is in the future in relation to Time Zones, we are "behind the times" in soooo many other ways. :P

  3. Hey Elise!!!! Sorry I missed you earlier today on chat. Well I'll be there hopefully tomorrow morning for me later tonight you. This time-zone thing still makes me so confused!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hi CK. I hate Time Zones >:(

I need to move to the States, that would make life much easier.

Hopefully, I will see you tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Elise, what time will you be on the chat?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Cat - I usually check in from about 7pm (my time) which is 7am (Eastern Time)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well I'll make sure I can get on tomorrow morning. Had too many meetings to go to today. So I'll see you sometime around 8:15 AM/8:15 PM tomorrow in chat elise. Have a good day at work!

Maybe cat will be there too!

  8. Sounds good. I will definitely check in tonight (my time. Have a good sleep.

  9. I am so confused. If it's nearly 9pm my time that means it's what time Elise's time? If OZ is in the future, would that mean it is 9am?? I never was good at math - or time, for that matter, despite my namesake.

I won't be at chat tomorrow morning, as I will be at work.

I will, however, try to pop into tonight - i.e., in an hour or so from now.

  10. Cat - If you are popping into chat tonight (your time), I won't be there, as I am at work and I can't access meebo from here (bloody firewalls).

It is currently 9.04AM in my world. According to timeanddate.com, Perth and Atlanta are EXACTLY 12 hours apart.

  12. Cool elise! Talk to you later! I'm off to answer my e-mails if my kitty let's me. She laying on top of my keyboard!

She needs her Cure fix. She's is the original cure_kitty! LOL!!!

  13. I too have a firewall at my work - which is a good thing since I should be teaching instead of chatting.
    ;-)

Damn work preventing us from indulging what's REALLY important - i.e, Cure chats. :-D

    ReplyDelete
  14. (of course our chats rarely stay on topic... but they are ALWAYS pristine and G-rated)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm glad that my company does not have any firewalls that prevents access to mebbo but then I find myself on chat more then I'm working on certain days. I'm a chat junkie!

And I love the g-rated chats! Yeah right g-rated, not with all the horny cure fans on here! LOL!!!

  16. Off-topic (kinda). One of the floors in my building has music piped through (which is normally crap). I popped up there (spur of the moment decision) and as I walked in they started playing Lovesong. OMG - perfect timing. And the best thing is, everyone up there now recognises the Cure's music and points it out to me when it is played (albeit rarely).

    Just had to share :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. you should send that in for a cure-spotting, elise.

"another dreary work day down under brightened by cure classic"

ps yes, the chats are very disney-fied - that is, until elise opens her big mouth! (and you know it's true, elise - DARE i quote something you said the other night? okay, okay, fine, won't.)

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's was cool! At least the people at your place let you know The Cure is playing.

All I get are developers telling me, turn off that crappy mope rock, Robert Smith is a has been. Those guys suck!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. CK - yes, I am very impressed that I have been able to educate my co-workers to at least recognise The Cure's music.

Cat - it was certainly a stimulating conversation. I'm not sure what I had been drinking that day. But, I will not take sole responsibility for the leap into 'R' rating.

    ReplyDelete
  20. LOL! Yes - mmmmmmm RSXXX! *Mind wanders to a world other than work*

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh I wish I was on to see what elise wrote! Must have been interesting!!! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  22. CK - it was an interesting conversation.

For the record, I did ensure that there were no minors (AKA djscribbles) in the room at the time of this particular discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  23. let's put it this way, CK: Elise was WAY naughtier than I could ever HOPE to be. I by contrast was my usual pristine self. Puritanical, in fact.

    ReplyDelete
  24. CK: we are chatting now. Elise, sorry you can't join us.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cat - I don't think I could ever aspire to be as 'naughty' as you, but I will continue to try :)

DOH! about the meebo chat. Say 'hi' to everyone for me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's just a couple of us right now, elise.

and the other night, you said something classic that i will never forget! it was witty and bawdy. it was perfect. :-)

lurve cure chats. ESPECIALLY when there is no SKYPE.

    ReplyDelete
  27. and really, they are COF chats. the cure is but a sliver of the topics we cover. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh wow it was that naughty that you had to make sure no minors were on! Bad Bad Bad elise! LOL!!! I'm still way to shy to chat like that myself but I get a kick out of reading it!

And I agree cat brings out the naughty side in everyone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sounds like a song from Bloodflowers "There is no SKYPE"

*wracks brain trying to recall witty and bawdy comment, in vain hope of one day emulating feat*

On a serious note, I think if you ever joined a Skype conversation you would love it. A lot of the time there are silences as we watch what is happening in meebo, it is just that we all get to share the instant reaction. Which is very cool.

  30. Hi ya Elise!

Just wanted to give you a shout out! I hope that you are well! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would like to do Skype one day just to hear the Aussie accent! And ya'll can hear my Southern-tinged loudmouth voice! Some people actually think I sound more Northeastern...

Elise, I will have to remind you in an e-mail sometime what you said. It was CLASSIC. The Perfect Smut. :-)

    CK: I resemble that remark.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi DA!!!! I'm well thanks. How are you?

Any luck with the job hunting?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Cat - as I keep telling everyone, I don't have an accent - ya'll do!!!

    "The Perfect Smut" LOL!

*tries to turn away and focus on work* FAT CHANCE

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Perfect Dork. That's what you are. OZZIES gots them some ACCENTS!

The Oz accent is like a hybrid Brit-'Merican accent.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Aha! Funny you should ask.

They keep pushing back my end date at my current job. So I guess that's good. I really want to have a new job set in place before my current job ends. Its a pride thing. I'd love to be able to quit and start a new job and not have to take a severance package.

But I'm on a roll. I had a second interview today for a job that I really want. They told me I was one of three candidates they were considering. I mean, if that swimmer can win 8 gold medals at the Olympics...Then I can beat out two other people for a job in systems scheduling, right? :)

And I have a phone interview tomorrow for another position. One of these things is going to pan out eventually!

  36. elise was there skype chat this weekend? I totally missed it if there was, everyone at home had me doing all sorts of things & I never went on-line. I'll try to get on this coming weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  37. DA - That is good that they keep extending the end date - at least that way it is giving you time to find the Perfect Job.

I'll send out good vibes to the universe for you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. CK - there are Skype chats most weekends. This weekend it was very very quiet. Just Bells and I.

    ReplyDelete
  39. DA: Good luck with the job hunt.

    Elise: eh? come again?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Cat - sorry, it was an impersonation of Meryl Streep doing an impersonation of the Aussie accent.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Good Luck to you DA with the job hunting! I'm still trying to find one myself, but I'm being lazy about the whole thing.

    ReplyDelete
