Cure are officially "Godlike Geniuses"

NME says so. : ) And they will play at the awards show at London's Brixton Academy on Feb. 25th

Rumor: And maybe O2 Arena as well?
"I have heard on expert authority that The Cure will be playing the 02 Arena in London to support the award - with approx 3 or 4 other major names to support this award! It will be a fantastic gig. This is an annual event, Manics headlined last year."
(Thanks Paul)

Update: Robert has posted the NME news at the official site, and leaves us hanging with this - "And the following night... ". Hmm...

Tell me something I didn't already know!!!

But seriously folks, it is great seeing the band get the recognition that they rightly deserve.

  10. My very first seeing of a CURE pic was in the early 1990.

Since that time, RSx IS A GODLIKE TO ME.

The CURE doesn´t need awards to be recognized as THE BEST BAND OF ALL TIME, imho.

But CURE and RSx have this award very well deserved.

    ¡¡¡ CONGRATULATIONS !!!

    It's going to be huge.

  16. The artwork on my copy of the album (and all those in the shop where I bought it) is a lot more yellow than what I see everywhere else. Not at all white in fact, but yellowish, and all the colours are more vivid. I really like it a lot better (love it!) this way, it reminds me of The Top artwork, whith vivid yellow, pink, blue and red.
Anybody can confirm that this is how it looks with their copies as well?

  24. I haven't been following a lot all the posts... but is there anyone out there who, like me, thinks that this album sucks! It's the worst album they have ever made, worse than Wild Mood Swings! Apart from Underneath the sky, and maybe Scream, this album is a terrible pop shit!

Robert and Co. can play whatever they think it's best, but I really don't understand how everybody can be so enthusiastic about this album! It's crap! Come on!

I bought my first album by the Cure in 1987 and saw them live for the first time in 1989, I have seen them live 25 times since then, 3 times during the last tour. I still love their music, but 4:13 is all wrong for me!

Please, tell me I'm not alone in this terrible pain!

  25. eruceht, I'm afraid you are pretty much alone on this one. Don't you even like Switch?
